Chungnam Province is launching its very first "Chungnam Women's Policy Participation Group" to incorporate diverse grassroots voices into women's policies and enable residents to directly participate in discovering and improving policies.
The province announced on the 23rd that it is conducting an open recruitment process until the 4th of next month for residents who are interested in women's and family policies as well as solving local community issues.
This initiative is designed to connect the activities of city and county Women-Friendly City citizen participation groups at a provincial level, expand participation from experts and ordinary residents, and translate on-the-ground opinions into substantive policy improvements.
The total size of the group will be around 50 members, consisting of recommended individuals from citizen participation groups across 15 cities and counties, alongside experts and residents selected through open recruitment.
The open recruitment will select around 20 members. Anyone who has activity experience in related fields such as women, families, care, and safety, or residents who are interested in women's policies and regional development, is eligible to apply.
The selected members will monitor everyday-life-oriented policies, discover local pending issues, and propose improvement tasks.
The province plans to review these proposed tasks with relevant departments and share the results to ensure that residents' opinions lead to actual policy enhancements.
Following an inauguration ceremony in December, the participation group will begin its full-scale activities in January next year, with a two-year term.
Taking into account applicants' activity experience, expertise, willingness to participate in policy, and regional balance, the province plans to select and individually notify successful candidates next month.
Interested applicants can download the application form and personal information collection/consent form from the provincial website, fill them out, and submit them via email (choisk59@korea.kr), in person, or by mail. For further details, please check the recruitment announcement on the provincial website or contact the Gender Equality and Family Division (041-635-2046).
Lee Jong-ik, Director-General of the Youth and Women's Bureau of the Province, stated, "The Chungnam Women's Policy Participation Group serves as a communication and participation channel to directly reflect the inconveniences and diverse opinions that residents feel in their daily lives." He added, "We will actively support small proposals from residents so that they can lead to substantial policy changes."
