Incheon International Airport Corporation, Hyundai Motor Company, etc. participate, showcasing UAM technology

[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  The ‘4th K-UAM Confex’, hosted by Incheon City, will be held at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo from the 31st to November 1. This event is intended to share the latest technology and future vision in the urban air transportation (UAM) field and promote the development of related industries.

In particular, at this year's event, the K-UAM One Team, which succeeded in verifying the safety of the entire process from ground movement to flight of UAM for the first time in the world, will participate and announce the results. The K-UAM One Team, comprised of Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Korean Air, and KT, successfully performed everything from normal operation of the UAM aircraft to response to abnormal situations in the integrated operability verification conducted at the Goheung Aviation Center in Jeollanam-do last March. Currently, the Gyeongin Ara Waterway is preparing for route verification.

At this exhibition, Incheon International Airport Corporation will present a UAM airport shuttle service using Incheon Airport Vertiport, and Hyundai Motor Group will unveil a scale model of the next-generation air mobility aircraft S-A2. Hyundai Engineering & Construction will present a UAM-based future city model, and Korean Air will reveal the UAM flight control system development process. KT plans to showcase its UAM traffic control and commercial communications network development achievements.

In addition, a special discussion session will be held on the current status of UAM promotion in Japan and Quebec and ways to link UAM with companies and UAM with hub airports. In addition, Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), SKT, and the Aerospace Industry-Academia Convergence Institute will provide a space where you can directly experience the present and future of UAM.

Kim Eul-soo, Director of Incheon City's Maritime and Aviation Bureau, said, “K-UAM Confex has established itself as the best UAM-specialized event in Korea,” and added, “This event will serve as an opportunity for Incheon to leap forward as a leading global UAM city.”
