Gangwon State (Governor Woo Sang-ho) and Wonju City (Mayor Gu Ja-yeol) announced that they will hold the "2026 Overseas Buyer Invitation Export Consultation Event" for two days from October 27 (Tuesday) to October 28 (Wednesday) at Hotel Inter-Burgo Wonju.

Marking its fourth installment this year, this export consultation event directly supports companies in expanding their entry into global markets by facilitating 1:1 matching between local export companies and influential overseas buyers.

The upcoming event will feature 83 export companies from six major sectors—including food, beauty, and medical devices—along with 97 overseas buyers from 35 countries. Together, they will conduct approximately 1,000 export consultation sessions. The event will also showcase company product exhibitions and feature live broadcasts hosted by overseas influencers.

Ahead of this event, the State held two online consultation sessions in August and September to pre-screen buyers. Out of 200 participating buyers, the final attendees were carefully selected based on their past contracting performance with Gangwon export companies and their credit ratings.

In particular, this year’s event aims to boost actual export contract performance by expanding the buyer pool through the Overseas Koreans Agency network, while actively reflecting recommendations from the State's overseas headquarters and the preferences of local enterprises.

Kim Moon-ki, Director-General of the Economic Bureau of Gangwon State, stated, "Securing continuous trade channels through market expansion is just as crucial as developing great products. We hope this event will serve as a valuable opportunity to broaden the base of local export companies by matching them with highly qualified buyers who possess a strong potential for actual contracts."
