Inje County, South Korea, is taking a proactive approach to utilizing its Hometown Love Donation Fund by inviting residents to propose creative and impactful projects. The county announced on the 10th that it will hold a 'Hometown Love Donation Designated Donation Project Resident Contest' to ensure that the donated funds are used for projects that resonate with donors and address the specific needs of the local community.
Unlike general donation projects where the use of funds is determined after they are collected, designated donations allow donors to choose specific projects at the time of donation, similar to a crowdfunding model. This system aims to increase donor engagement and ensure that funds are allocated to initiatives that donors are passionate about.
The contest is open to anyone interested in Inje County, and proposals can cover a wide range of themes, including:
Support for socially vulnerable groups
Youth development and protection
Enhancement of local culture, arts, and health
Support for community revitalization
Other projects that contribute to the welfare of residents
The submission period runs until the 18th of next month, and the county will evaluate proposals based on criteria such as creativity, economic feasibility, and efficiency. The final results will be announced in June.
Selected projects will be eligible to receive funding for three years, with a maximum budget of 100 million won.
A county official stated, "We will strive to discover various projects that are suitable for the region and contribute to its development."
This initiative by Inje County demonstrates a commitment to community-driven development and ensures that the Hometown Love Donation Fund is used in a transparent and effective manner.
