Paraguay's 'Sacred Heart of Jesus School and Technical School Salesianito' Showcases Artistic Talent in Historic Commemorative Event

Asunción, Paraguay – 'Colegio y Escuela Técnica Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Salesianito', an institution with a long and proud history in Paraguayan education, will host a significant commemorative event this September to mark its 125th anniversary. As part of this monumental occasion, a special art exhibition will be presented at the historic cultural venue in Asunción, the 'Centro Cultural de la República El Cabildo (CCR)'.

This exhibition has been organized to reflect on Salesianito's 125 years of educational contribution to Paraguayan society and to introduce the rich artistic talent within the school community to the public. According to reporting by journalist Marisol Ramírez, the exhibition was announced on May 22nd, and it is expected to be an important occasion that simultaneously highlights Salesianito's history and artistic capabilities.

A Celebration of Art at 'El Cabildo'

Officials from Salesianito met with Aníbal Saucedo Rodas, General Director of 'El Cabildo', Sair Gamarra, Deputy Director, and Norma Annichiarico, Professor at Salesianito, to coordinate the exhibition.

Deputy Director Gamarra stated, "We requested space at El Cabildo for Salesianito's first art exhibition," adding, "We want to make known the potential and artistic talent of students, alumni, parents, and members of the educational pastoral community throughout Paraguay." This demonstrates Salesianito's commitment to artistic education for the holistic development of its students, beyond mere academic instruction.

Professor Annichiarico emphasized that 'El Cabildo' is a "symbolic and ideal space" to showcase and share the artistic expressions of the Salesian community for the "very important" occasion of Salesianito's 125th anniversary. 'El Cabildo' is a significant building embodying Paraguay's history and cultural identity, having formerly served as the Parliament building and now functioning as a central venue for various cultural events. The fact that Salesianito's exhibition will be held in such a historic space further deepens its meaning.

Salesianito officials expressed their deep gratitude for the active cooperation of General Director Saucedo Rodas in the process of organizing this event. They anticipate that this exhibition, scheduled for September, will widely publicize Salesianito's rich educational heritage and artistic talent within Paraguayan society.

Salesianito’s 125 Years of History and Educational Legacy

The 'Colegio y Escuela Técnica Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, Salesianito' is a long-standing educational institution founded in Paraguay in 1899. The school is based on the educational philosophy of the Salesian Society, founded by Don Bosco, an Italian educator and saint. Don Bosco emphasized the holistic development of young people, especially the education and welfare of the poor and marginalized, which is deeply reflected in Salesianito's educational philosophy.

Over the past 125 years, Salesianito has made significant contributions to national development by producing numerous talented individuals for Paraguayan society. The school offers various educational programs, from primary education to technical training, focusing on instilling not only academic knowledge but also ethical values and social responsibility in students. In particular, its role as a technical school has been crucial in nurturing skilled technical personnel necessary for Paraguay's industrial development.

This 125th-anniversary art exhibition will be a meaningful event to look back on Salesianito's journey and pledge a new leap forward for the future. It is expected to foster harmony within the school community through art, facilitate communication with the local community, and expand cultural exchange. This exhibition is more than just a commemorative event; it is anticipated to be a significant cultural landmark that broadly promotes Salesianito's educational values and artistic vision.
