Tripoli, Libya – In a significant move to accelerate the digital transformation of Libya's economy, Jumhouria Bank has announced a nationwide initiative to provide free Point-of-Sale (POS) devices to business owners. This initiative aims to bolster the commercial sector, reduce reliance on cash transactions, and enhance the adoption of secure and efficient digital payment solutions.

Mohamed Saeed, the bank’s media director, highlighted that this initiative is a crucial step in the bank's ongoing efforts to modernize its services and align with the national agenda for digital economic growth. "By providing free POS devices, we are empowering local businesses to embrace digital payments, which not only improves their operational efficiency but also enhances the overall customer experience," Saeed stated. "This initiative is designed to increase transparency, security, and financial inclusion across the nation."

The initiative comes at a time when the Libyan government is actively promoting digital solutions to streamline financial transactions and foster economic stability. The free POS devices will enable businesses of all sizes, from small retailers to larger enterprises, to accept a variety of digital payment methods, including credit and debit cards, as well as mobile wallet transactions.

Jumhouria Bank has ensured that the POS devices are equipped with state-of-the-art security features to protect both businesses and consumers from fraud. In addition to the hardware, the bank will provide comprehensive training programs and ongoing technical support to ensure that business owners can effectively utilize the new technology.

"We understand that transitioning to digital payments can be a new experience for many business owners," Saeed explained. "Therefore, we are committed to providing the necessary education and support to make this transition as smooth as possible."

The bank anticipates that this initiative will have a profound long-term impact on the Libyan economy. By reducing the reliance on cash, it will enhance transparency, reduce the risks associated with cash handling, and ultimately contribute to a more robust and inclusive financial ecosystem.

Business owners interested in obtaining a free POS device are encouraged to visit their nearest Jumhouria Bank branch for detailed information and application procedures. This initiative marks a significant milestone in Libya's journey towards a digitally driven economy, promising greater convenience, security, and efficiency for businesses and consumers alike.
