The 11th Regular Lease Exhibition of 2026 CN Gallery Runs from October 14 (Wed) to October 25 (Sun)

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation announced that it will host the Ganggyeongsan Salt Literature Museum local artist Seoul special exhibition, <Nongdam (Shades Capturing Ink): Nonsan Stories of the>, from October 14 to 25 at the CN Gallery (56-7 Bukchon-ro 5-gil, Jongno-gu, Seoul), the Seoul exhibition space for Chungnam culture and arts.

The exhibition title, "Nongdam," refers to the harmony of ink and water, symbolizing the artists' deep contemplation of nature and life.

<Nongdam (Shades Capturing Ink): Nonsan Stories of the> introduces artworks by local artists from Nonsan. Ten artists are participating: Kang Soo-hee, Kang Shin-young, Ko Mi-kyung, Kim Gap-soon, Kim Hyun-sook, Shin Hyo-nam, Woo Hyun-jin, Jeon Byung-woon, Cho Sun-young, and Choi Sun-myung.

This exhibition will feature the diverse stories of Nonsan's local artists using "nongdam" (darkness and lightness)—the essential aesthetics of Korean painting—as a visual tool, ranging from heavy ink-wash paintings to vibrant colored paintings. Visitors can view distinctive works ranging from ink-wash paintings highlighted by the beauty of negative space to cozy landscape paintings and sparkling lacquer paintings.

The Chungnam Culture and Tourism Foundation stated that through this exhibition, it aims to introduce Chungnam’s culture and arts to visitors in the capital area and continue cultural and artistic exchanges connecting the region with the metropolitan area. It hopes that visitors will be able to experience the individuality and beauty of regional art through this exhibition, <Nongdam (Shades Capturing Ink): Nonsan Stories of the>.

The exhibition is free and open to everyone at the CN Gallery. Operating hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The gallery is closed every Monday and on public holidays.
