Hybe Corporation announced that this collaboration marks a historic moment, as it is the first time Crosby has had a duet partner since David Bowie in 1977. Hybe stated that V has put his own unique spin on a portion of "White Christmas," giving the timeless classic a fresh interpretation. This collaboration is said to be inspired by V's long-standing admiration for Crosby. In 2022, V shared a cover of Crosby's "It's Been a Long, Long Time" on social media, showcasing his appreciation for the legendary singer. The official Bing Crosby channel responded positively, stating that V has the potential to be a "great jazz crooner."
