Korean-American singer Koo Jun-yup, best known as a member of the dance duo Clon, has announced an indefinite hiatus from his entertainment career following the death of his wife, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu.

According to Taiwanese media reports, Koo has halted all public appearances, including DJ shows, press conferences, and fan meetings, with the exception of already-filmed commercials. The decision came as Koo mourns the loss of his wife, who passed away on February 2nd, 2025, at the age of 48 due to complications from pneumonia.

Koo and Hsu's love story was one that captured the hearts of many. The couple initially dated in the late 1990s but parted ways before reconnecting and marrying in 2022. Their reunion and subsequent marriage were widely celebrated, with Koo becoming a beloved figure in Taiwan.

Koo expressed his grief in a heartfelt message on social media, writing, "My angel went to heaven on February 2nd, 2025. It's a time of unbearable pain." He also revealed his desire to create a private space where he can honor his late wife's memory.

Hsu's death has been met with an outpouring of condolences from fans and colleagues alike. She was a prominent actress in Taiwan, known for her roles in popular dramas and films. Her passing is a tragic loss to the entertainment industry.

Koo's agency has stated that he will take time to heal from his loss before resuming his activities. The singer's decision to step away from the spotlight during this difficult time has been met with understanding and support from his fans.
