Dongwon F&B Launches New Tuna Mayo with Sesame Oil

Dongwon F&B is making waves in the canned tuna market with the launch of its new product, 'Dongwon Flavor Tuna Mayo Sesame Oil,' on the 18th. Building on the 40-year legacy of 'Dongwon Tuna,' the company aims to capture consumers' taste buds with an innovative product that breaks the mold of traditional canned tuna.

'Dongwon Flavor Tuna Mayo Sesame Oil' is a side-dish canned tuna that combines flaky tuna with savory sesame oil and mayonnaise, designed to be eaten directly with rice without any additional cooking. The addition of sesame oil to the classic tuna and mayonnaise combination enhances the umami and flavor, making it versatile for various dishes such as kimbap and sandwiches. Notably, a 135g can contains 19g of protein, providing about one-third of the daily recommended intake.

Unlike traditional canned tuna, which is primarily used as a cooking ingredient, 'Dongwon Flavor Tuna Mayo Sesame Oil' emphasizes its function as a ready-to-eat side dish, presenting a new paradigm for canned tuna. A Dongwon F&B representative stated, "We focused on the demand for products that are both convenient and nutritious for busy modern consumers. We will continue to expand consumer choices through innovative product development."

The new product is available in two sizes, 90g (2,380 KRW) and 135g (2,880 KRW). Last year's 'Dongwon Flavor Tuna,' which featured a unique flavor with sesame oil and special sauce, saw its sales triple within a year of launch, establishing itself as a successful 'rice side dish' in the market. Dongwon F&B plans to further accelerate the growth of the canned tuna market with this new product launch.
