[Global Economic Times] Pyeongtaek City announced on the 11th that it held a ceremony to launch the export of ‘Super-Oning Rice’, the region’s representative brand, to Germany at the Anjung Agricultural Cooperative Rice Processing Plant. The export volume this time is 18 tons worth 50 million won.

The city analyzed that Super Owning rice is capturing the tastes of people around the world, leading to continued exports. In fact, this is the 18th export to Germany, and a total of 235 tons of rice has been exported to France, Australia, the United Kingdom, and Indonesia since 2007.

Accordingly, the city predicted that Super Owning would serve as a turning point for local farmers who are going through difficult times due to abnormally high temperatures, falling rice prices, and decreased consumption.

At the launch ceremony on this day, Lee Gye-pil, head of Anjung Agricultural Cooperative, said, “I hope that this export of Pyeongtaek rice will be an opportunity for farmers to feel proud of Pyeongtaek agricultural products, and we will strive to expand exports through active overseas marketing in the future.”

Mayor Jeong Jang-seon also said, “We are expanding export support projects to strengthen the competitiveness of Pyeongtaek agricultural and food exports, and we will continue to do our best to ensure that Pyeongtaek’s excellent agricultural products are loved more overseas.”

Meanwhile, Super Owning rice is produced through thorough quality control and strict inspection processes by operating a rice cultivation complex in Pyeongtaek City, and is a high-quality rice that has received Good Agricultural Practice Certification (GAP) and Gyeonggi Province Governor Certification (G Mark).
