The Korean Cultural Center in Argentina (Director Kim Mi-sook) successfully screened director Hong Sang-soo's latest film, <What Does That Nature Say to You>, at the 26th Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI), which was held with great success in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from April 1st to 13th, effectively promoting the charm of Korean cinema to the local audience.

The film's screenings began on April 4th at the Cine Teatro Alvear, a prestigious cinema located in the heart of Buenos Aires. This was followed by a second screening on April 8th at the Teatro San Martín Sala Lugones, a prominent performance arts venue in Argentina. The film also met with enthusiastic responses from audiences at the Espacio INCAA Cine Gaumont on Thursday, April 10th.

The Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival, first held in April 1999, is now in its 26th year and stands as one of South America's major international film festivals. 1  Focusing on independent films and showcasing a diverse range of works, it is held annually in Buenos Aires in April and eagerly anticipated by film enthusiasts.   

This year's festival featured a total of 298 films from 44 countries across 29 sections (3 competitive sections and 26 non-competitive sections). Hong Sang-soo's <What Does That Nature Say to You> was invited to the non-competitive section, garnering international attention.

Meanwhile, the Korean Cultural Center in Argentina actively promoted Korean culture by setting up a promotional booth at the film festival venue on Friday, April 4th. They provided visitors with traditional Korean snacks and introduced the various activities of the cultural center. It is expected that this support for the film screening will deeply imprint the artistic merit and originality of Korean cinema on local Argentine audiences and further expand interest in Korean culture.
