Sejong Special Self-Governing City (Mayor Cho Sang-ho) has announced the main contents of the "6th Community Social Security Plan (Draft)," a four-year plan spanning from 2027 to 2030, and is collecting citizen feedback through the 26th.
The Community Social Security Plan is a regional welfare plan established every four years. It outlines the direction of local welfare and future initiatives in areas such as care, health, employment, housing, education, and culture, based on the welfare demands of citizens.
Under the vision of "Sejong, a welfare-centric city where daily life is happy," the draft focuses on 35 detailed projects across five social security strategies: ▲ Care, ▲ Income & Employment, ▲ Health & Safety, ▲ Settlement Environment, and ▲ Education & Culture.
Along with these, the plan includes 26 detailed tasks tied to regional development strategies, bringing the total to 61 projects and tasks.
Compared to the previous 5th plan, the health sector has been subdivided into a "Health & Safety" strategy. New or expanded initiatives have been introduced to align with citizen demands and changing times, including youth life-respect education, expanded integrated care programs, citizen-led environmental protection practices, and AI-based disaster response.
Furthermore, the draft reflects local welfare conditions and resident demands gathered through last year's community social security survey, citizen and field expert opinions, public-private-academic working groups, and sector-specific subcommittee meetings.
The 6th Community Social Security Plan (Draft) can be reviewed on the city's website (sejong.go.kr). Citizens wishing to submit opinions can visit the Welfare Policy Division at City Hall or submit them via email (kse3720@korea.kr) by the 26th.
The city plans to finalize the 6th Community Social Security Plan through deliberation by the Social Security Committee after reviewing additional citizen feedback.
A city official stated, "Through this public notice, we will listen to the diverse opinions of our citizens and actively reflect them in the plan," adding, "We will create welfare policies that citizens can truly experience in their daily lives."
