Suncheon, South Korea – Eight iconic tourist destinations in Jeonnam province have been selected for the 2025-2026 Korea Top 100 Tourist Attractions, as announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. This marks a two-spot increase from the previous selection, underscoring the growing potential of Jeonnam's tourism resources.

The Korea Top 100 is a biennial list that highlights the nation's must-visit destinations, determined through big data analysis and expert evaluations. This year marks the seventh edition of the list.

Jeonnam's featured attractions include:

Suncheon Bay National Garden & Suncheon Bay Wetland: A world-renowned eco-tourism destination, continuously selected for seven years, showcasing a harmonious coexistence of nature and humanity.
Yeosu Expo Ocean Park: A marine leisure park offering diverse attractions such as the world's only Big-O Show, Sky Tower, and Aquaplanet.
Juknokwon Bamboo Forest & Gwanbangjelim Forest: A historic and ecological gem featuring a stunning bamboo forest and over 300-year-old trees.
Seomjin River Train Village: A unique train-themed tourist attraction along the decommissioned Jeolla Line, offering scenic views of the Seomjin River and an annual World Rose Festival.
Mokpo Modern History Space & Mokpo Cable Car: A destination that combines the city's rich 100-year-old history and culture with breathtaking views of the Dadohae Islands, offered by the cable car.
Gwangyang Mehwa Village & Cheongmaesil Farm: Home to the largest plum blossom forest in Korea, offering a picturesque spring landscape and a unique experience with over 2,000 breathing earthen jars filled with ripening plums.
Purple Island: A seasonal paradise known for its purple flowers and recognized by the UNWTO as a world-class tourist village.
Jeongnamjin Cedar Forest Woodland: A healing and wellness destination featuring 470,000 cedar trees and accessible facilities like barrier-free wooden decks and barefoot earth paths.
Sim Woo-jeong, Director of Tourism at Jeonnam Province, expressed his satisfaction with the selection, stating, "This achievement is a testament to our dedicated efforts in discovering and preserving Jeonnam's tourism resources. We will continue to support and promote our beautiful tourist destinations to attract more visitors."
