Showcasing interconnected art support project performances at Cheonan Independence Hall on October 24

The Chungnam Cultural Tourism Foundation (Acting President Lee Han-soo) will hold the '2026 Gongsang Festival' on Saturday, October 24, starting at 3:00 PM in the area in front of the Tower of the Nation at the Cheonan Independence Hall. Held as part of the '2026 Chungnam Culture and Tourism Grand Festival,' this event serves as a stage for local art groups that have been active through the Foundation's art support projects to share their creative activities with provincial residents.

A key feature of this year's festival is the linkage between the Resident Performance Troupe Development Support Project and general Art Support Projects, expanding the active spheres of art groups—previously operated on an individual project basis—into a unified performance. Under the theme of 'Chungnam Arts: An Autumn Picnic on Stage,' art groups with different creative foundations and genres will take to the same stage to showcase the diverse currents of local performing arts.

A total of 8 groups will participate in the performances, including the ▲Dangjin Chamber Orchestra, ▲Traditional Culture Professional Performance Troupe "Kkun," ▲Choice Musical Company, ▲Cheonan Opera Company, ▲Culture and Arts Workshop JB Company, along with ▲Tongue Eyes Company, ▲Root, and ▲Gayageum Ensemble Damhyeon. A wide range of genres—from traditional performing arts, musicals, vocal music, instrumental performances, and theater to dance and traditional Korean music—will unfold from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

This festival is significant in that it shares the operational achievements of individual support projects directly in the performance field while exploring new possibilities for exchange among art groups. Building on this momentum, the Foundation plans to strengthen the foundation for collaboration between support projects and ensure that the creative activities of local artists connect with a wider variety of stages and audiences.
