Daejeon City: "Fashion adorns the arboretum on an autumn night"

On the evening of September 25, Daejeon City held the '2025 Daejeon Fashion Collection' at the circular plaza of the Hanbat Arboretum, showcasing about 160 works created in collaboration with local designers and university students.

This year, the 14th Daejeon Fashion Collection was held under the theme of "Daejeon Fashion, the Beginning of Imagination." Forty-three professional models graced the runway, brilliantly adorning the outdoor stage on the autumn night. About 900 people, including Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo, City Council Chairman Cho Won-hwi, fashion industry officials, and citizens, came together to enjoy the fashion festival.

The Daejeon Fashion Collection began in 2012 and is held annually to foster the local fashion industry, discover emerging designers, and expand the base of fashion culture. It has established itself as a leading event that sets domestic fashion trends, standing alongside Seoul and Busan.

In particular, through this fashion collection, Daejeon City widely promoted the creativity and competitiveness of its local fashion industry and provided an opportunity for young designers and local brands to grow together. The fact that about 160 works—created through the collaboration of 80 local designers and university students—were on stage is highly significant. It strengthens the link between fashion education and the industry, and can lead to the discovery of new talent and job creation.

Moreover, this event, held at the Hanbat Arboretum, a landmark in the city, provided citizens with an opportunity to enjoy fashion culture and enhanced the city's brand and tourism promotion for outside visitors.

Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo said, "I hope you enjoy the sensibility and style of Daejeon together at the Hanbat Arboretum on this autumn night and cheer on the new challenges of local brands and young designers."
