Chungnam Province is ramping up its efforts to attract 50 million tourists during the 2025-2026 'Visit Chungnam Years'. To this end, the province held a workshop on April 21st for cultural tourism commentators to enhance their capabilities and boost morale. The workshop, held at Splas Resom, was attended by approximately 170 people, including officials, the head of the Chungnam Cultural Tourism Commentator Association, and cultural tourism commentators.

The event featured a flag performance commemorating the 'Visit Chungnam Years', celebratory performances by the commentators, and the appointment ceremony for 41 members of the 'Tourism Reception Posture Monitoring Group' to inspect major tourist destinations. Special lectures were also given on commentary techniques and the role of cultural tourism commentators, aiming to improve their professional skills.

Chungnam Province recognizes the crucial role of cultural tourism commentators, with 169 commentators currently stationed at 93 locations across 15 cities and counties, providing quality commentary to visitors. The province plans to support various activities, including cultural tourism commentary, to revitalize tourism and enhance its image.

In preparation for the 'Visit Chungnam Years', Chungnam is investing 348.8 billion KRW in 41 tourism infrastructure projects. Key projects include the construction of the Baekje Culture Center in Gongju, the Geumgang Yeoulmokgil pedestrian path in Geumsan, and the Cheonsuman Ecological Wetland and Trail in 1  Taean. The province is also developing comprehensive marketing strategies, combining large-scale events like the Boryeong Mud Festival with K-pop concerts and introducing unique programs showcasing local resources.

Furthermore, Chungnam is focusing on enhancing the scenic appeal of major tourist destinations, conducting hygiene inspections at restaurants and accommodations, and introducing tailored cruise tourism courses to attract international visitors. The province is also promoting the "Welcome U" campaign to offer friendly hospitality to visitors.
