Ulsan’s various locations will transform into cultural stages filled with fireworks, art, and music throughout the month of October. Marking “Culture Month,” the Ulsan Metropolitan Government announced on the 29th that a series of cultural events for citizens and tourists will be held across the region starting next month.

The first event will be the “2026 Ulsan Fireworks Festival,” scheduled for October 2nd at 7:30 PM at Gangdong Mongdol Beach in Buk-gu. A multimedia fireworks show combining music and video will be unfolded by a light show featuring 1,500 drones. On October 3rd and 4th, the “Wangsang-ro Light Street Festival” will follow in Wangsang-ro and Culture Park in Nam-gu, featuring street performances, DJ and guest singer stages, and a street tree light show.

At the Ulsan Art Museum, a special exhibition titled “An Unfinished Story: National Painter Lee Jung-seop” will run from October 15th to January 17th of next year. Around 140 pieces, including 109 works from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art’s Lee Kun-hee Collection, will be on display, featuring paintings, silver foil paintings, postcard art, and illustrated letters. Major works by Lee Jung-seop—such as “White Bull,” “Three People,” “Tongyeong Landscape,” and “Landscape with Seop Island”—will also be on view.

Coinciding with the exhibition opening, “Art Street Ulsan 2026” will take place from October 15th to 17th on Culture Street in Jung-gu. Exhibition, sales, and experience booths participated in by local artists and shops, along with busking performances and programs linked to the Lee Jung-seop special exhibition, will be operated.

Outdoor interactive events will also continue. On October 17th, the “Ulsan Picnic Festival,” centered around an augmented reality (AR) treasure hunt, will be held at the Nam-gu riverbanks of Taehwagang National Garden. On October 23rd and 24th, the “Legend of Taehwagang Seonbawi Festival,” themed around the legendary “White Dragon,” will unfold at Seonbawi Park in Ulju-gun, accompanied by citizen participation programs such as concerts, magic shows, fireworks, and live performances.

In addition, events will follow including the “Ulsan Office Workers Song Festival Grand Prix” on October 9th, the “Ulsan B-Boy Festival” on the 17th, and the “46th Ulsan Arts Festival” from October 20th to November 9th. Furthermore, the “Ulsan Rice Cake & Bakery Festival” will be held on October 24th and 25th, followed by the “Hip-cnic Festival in Ulsan” from October 31st to November 1st.
