The 17th Nuclear Culture Promotion Foundation Workshop: Nuclear Industry Perspectives on Licensing and Regulatory Issues

The 17th Nuclear Culture Promotion Foundation Workshop will be held on December 13th at the Korea Science and Technology Center, focusing on the theme "Licensing and Regulatory Issues as Seen by the Nuclear Industry." This workshop is designed to facilitate in-depth discussions on licensing regulations, a critical issue within the nuclear industry.

Key Presentations:

Current Status and Countermeasures for Nuclear Power Plant Licensing: Kwon Myung-seob, the head of the Shinhanul Unit 1 Nuclear Power Plant at Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, will present on the current state of nuclear power plant licensing and discuss potential solutions.
Development and Pre-Design Review Progress of Innovative SMRs: Heo Sun, the design director of the Innovative SMR Technology Development Project, will introduce the latest trends in SMR development.
Activities of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency: Park Sang-deok, a senior researcher at the Nuclear Policy Center, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, will emphasize the role and importance of regulatory agencies.
Designated Panel Discussion and General Discussion:

Designated Panel Discussion: Jang Moon-hee, a concurrent professor at Pohang University of Science and Technology, will chair the panel discussion. Baek Won-pil, former president of the Korean Nuclear Society, and Jo Ki-yang, co-representative of the Fact & Science Network, will participate in a heated discussion.
General Discussion: Participants and panelists will share various opinions on the development of the nuclear industry.
