SEOUL – The War Memorial Association of Korea, led by Chairman Baek Seung-joo, announced on the 13th that it will host a public contest starting February 14 to discover creative and innovative educational ideas regarding war history.

The contest aims to diversify and professionalize educational content for youth by leveraging the extensive exhibits at the War Memorial of Korea. Participants are required to develop a program centered on specific exhibition halls—such as War History I & II or The Korean War Room I, II, & III—and choose one of three categories:

- Creative Activity Education
- Family-oriented Maker Education
- Field Exploration/On-site Education

Crucially, all proposals must be linked to the physical exhibition spaces and include the development of educational materials (teaching aids) to enhance learning effectiveness.

Eligibility and Timeline
The contest is open to individuals or teams with professional or academic backgrounds in education, including:

Current or former elementary and secondary school teachers.
Instructors active in museum or art gallery activities.
Undergraduate or graduate students majoring in museum education, history education, or related fields.
The application period runs from February 14 to March 14, 2026.

Awards and Career Opportunities
A total of 5.5 million KRW in prize money will be awarded across various categories, including Grand Prize, Excellence, and Participation awards. Selection will involve a rigorous two-step process consisting of a document review followed by an in-person interview.

In addition to the monetary prize, winning ideas may be integrated into the War Memorial of Korea’s official curriculum after a professional development process. Winners will also be given priority opportunities to serve as instructors for these programs.
