Busan Unveils 34 'Fair-Price Accommodations' for the Busan Fireworks Festival

Busan Metropolitan City has announced the selection of 34 'Fair-Price Accommodations' ahead of the 21st Busan Fireworks Festival, scheduled for November 7. This initiative aims to provide visitors with reasonable lodging options and promote a sound, fair accommodation culture across the city.

Surveying Festival-Area Lodging

To help tourists plan their trips more effectively and encourage self-regulated fair pricing within the local hospitality industry, the city conducted a comprehensive price comparison and analysis. Authorities examined 157 lodging establishments located within a 500-meter radius of the main festival venue.

Using data collected from five major online booking platforms—Goodchoice, Yanolja, Trip.com, Agoda, and Naver Reservation—the city analyzed room rate fluctuations between the festival date and adjacent weekends. The analysis revealed an average price surge of 94.5 percent across the surveyed area.

Among the 157 properties evaluated:

*85 establishments exhibited a price increase of less than 100 percent.
*57 establishments recorded price increases ranging from 100 percent to under 200 percent.
*15 establishments showed price hikes of 200 percent or more.

Selection Criteria and Public Disclosure

From this pool, the city selected 34 establishments that kept their festival-day price hikes to 20 percent or lower, while also meeting rigorous operational standards. Eligible properties had to strictly comply with pre-announced rates and have no record of hygiene-related complaints or regulatory violations.

The full list of the 34 designated fair-price accommodations is available to the public from November 4 through November 8. Travelers can access details—including business names, addresses, establishment types, ratings, room counts, and official website links—via Busan’s official tourism portal, Visit Busan (visitbusan.net), under the "Going to Busan > Accommodation > Busan Fireworks Festival Fair-Price Accommodations" section. This allows visitors to weigh both affordability and proximity to the event venue when making their travel arrangements.

Fostering a Sustainable Tourism Ecosystem

Busan City plans to actively promote these reasonably priced establishments to encourage voluntary fair-pricing practices industry-wide. By easing the financial burden on tourists, the city hopes to foster a mutually beneficial tourism environment where visitors and local businesses thrive together, ultimately strengthening global trust in Busan's tourism sector.

"We have identified and highlighted these fair-price establishments to ensure visitors attending the Busan Fireworks Festival can enjoy their stay without unreasonable financial burdens," said Na Yoon-bin, Director-General of Busan’s Tourism Contents Industry Bureau. "Moving forward, we will continue to enhance visitor satisfaction while encouraging the hospitality industry to voluntarily practice fair pricing, creating a sustainable tourism environment built on mutual growth."
