MUAN, South Korea – A Jeju Air passenger plane carrying 181 people crashed upon landing at Muan International Airport on Monday morning, killing at least 80 people and injuring dozens more.

The Boeing 737-800, flight number 7C2216, was en route from Bangkok, Thailand when it veered off the runway and burst into flames shortly after 9 a.m. local time. Firefighters and rescue workers rushed to the scene, but the extent of the damage made it difficult to extract survivors from the wreckage.

Jeju Air has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and pledged to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the crash, considering factors such as weather conditions, mechanical failure, and pilot error.
