SAMCHEOK, Gangwon Province—Samcheok City and the EDUPIA Samcheok Education Development Project Group announced on October 4, 2025, that the 2nd Samcheok City EDUPIA Career Experience Fair will take place on October 11 at the Kangwon National University (KNU) Samcheok Campus. This initiative, organized under the Education Development Special Zone pilot project, is designed to help local students understand the value of various professions, cultivate a positive future outlook, and build self-confidence.

The highly anticipated fair will feature 50 diverse career experience booths, with a strong presence from KNU’s specialized departments.

In-Depth Career Exploration

The core of the fair revolves around hands-on programs led by 15 distinct KNU departments, offering students an immersive look into professional fields. Departments such as Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Radiological Science, Physical Therapy, Human Sports, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Technology, Economics and Finance, and Optometry will showcase career paths based on their respective curricula.

Furthermore, several engineering and science departments have tailored specific, job-focused experiences:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will run a booth titled, "Today I am an Aircraft Developer!"
The Department of Electronic AI System Engineering will offer an experience as an "Autonomous Tank Engineer."
The Department of Construction Convergence will pose the question, "Why Don't Buildings Collapse? - Become a Structural Designer."
The Department of Bio-Functional Materials will dive into applied science with "Bio-Fragrance Science: Cosmetic and Pharmaceutical Researcher."
These detailed, hands-on experiences are intended to transition abstract academic concepts into tangible career visions, providing students with practical insight into various future roles.

A Gateway to Potential

Participation in the fair is free and open to all elementary, middle, and high school students in Samcheok, as well as the general public. Beyond the intensive career zones, the event will also host various engaging booths designed to stimulate interest and provide enjoyment for all attendees.

Lee Myung-gi, Director of the Planning and Budget Office, emphasized the event's significance: “This fair will serve as a crucial platform for students to explore a wide range of fields and discover their innate potential. We are committed to ensuring that the specialized departmental experiences at Kangwon National University help students establish concrete visions for their future careers and grow into confident, capable talents.”

The upcoming fair follows the successful staging of the inaugural event in June, which was met with widespread acclaim from the local community. The organizers are focused on building on that success to solidify the EDUPIA Career Experience Fair as a valuable annual resource for career development in the region.
