SEOUL, South Korea – Lotte GRS, the prominent food service franchise arm of South Korean conglomerate Lotte Group, has announced the opening of its first downtown location for its Japanese ramen specialty restaurant, 'Mukyoku'. The new eatery, named 'Mukyoku Guro Digital Station', commenced operations on April 28th and is strategically situated near the bustling Guro Digital Station on the Seoul subway line.

This marks a significant step in Lotte GRS's expansion strategy for the Mukyoku brand, which was first introduced to the South Korean market in 2023 with a location at Incheon International Airport. Mukyoku originates from Tokyo, Japan, and is renowned for its authentic tonkotsu ramen. Lotte GRS emphasizes the restaurant's commitment to traditional preparation methods, particularly in crafting its fresh noodles, which form the foundation of its rich and flavorful broths.

The design of the Mukyoku Guro Digital Station outlet reflects a modern interpretation of a traditional Japanese ramen shop. Lotte GRS highlighted the meticulous attention paid to both the interior and exterior aesthetics to create an inviting and authentic dining experience for customers.

The menu at the new location features a selection of classic and spicy ramen options, alongside flavorful rice bowls. Diners can choose from △Tonkotsu Ramen, the signature pork bone broth ramen; △Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen for those seeking a fiery kick; and △Shoyu Ramen, a soy sauce-based broth. Complementing the ramen offerings are hearty rice bowls topped with tender slices of chashu (braised pork), available in both △Tonkotsu Chashu Rice Bowl and △Spicy Tonkotsu Chashu Rice Bowl variations, as well as a △Shoyu Chashu Rice Bowl.

The choice of Guro Digital Station as the location for Mukyoku's first downtown venture is strategic. The area is recognized as a prime commercial district, boasting excellent accessibility due to its status as a major transportation hub. It also attracts a diverse consumer base, encompassing office workers from the numerous tech companies in the vicinity, university students, and local residents, creating a vibrant and promising market for the new restaurant.

A spokesperson for Lotte GRS expressed enthusiasm about the downtown launch, stating, "Based on the positive reception and popularity that Mukyoku has garnered at Incheon International Airport, we made the decision to expand with a downtown store." The representative further added, "Through this opening, Lotte GRS aims to provide customers with a wider range of brand experiences and further strengthen our presence in the food service sector."

This move underscores Lotte GRS's commitment to diversifying its restaurant portfolio and tapping into the growing demand for authentic international cuisine in South Korea's dynamic urban centers. The success of Mukyoku's downtown debut in the competitive Guro Digital Station area will be closely watched as Lotte GRS continues to explore opportunities for growth and expansion in the food and beverage industry.
