Daejeon City - The city of Daejeon has announced that it will create 55,223 jobs and achieve an employment rate of 67.2% in 2025. This is part of the city's efforts to create a world-class economic city where businesses, people, and jobs come together.

The city has established a detailed plan for its job creation strategy for 2025, which includes five core strategies, 12 implementation tasks, and 169 sub-projects. A total of KRW 326.8 billion will be invested to create 55,223 jobs and achieve an employment rate of 67.2% (for those aged 15-64).

The main directions of the plan are as follows:

Creating jobs that young people prefer and building an employment ecosystem that leads to job retention and local settlement.
Mitigating labor market mismatches by strengthening employment services.
Creating quality jobs by fostering new industries.
Moving away from a service-centered industrial structure and transforming into a high-tech industry-centered structure.

Yoo Deuk-won, Deputy Mayor of Daejeon City, said, "Even in the midst of a declining working population and difficult economic conditions, we will focus all of the city's efforts to revitalize the Daejeon economy and create jobs that citizens can feel. In particular, we will actively promote effective policies so that young people can stably work and settle in the region."
