Mokpo, South Korea – The vibrant port city of Mokpo in South Jeolla Province is set to host a grand musical celebration, the '2025 Mokpo Music Play,' for three days from May 23rd to 25th. Under the theme "Mokpo, Become Music!", the festival aims to showcase Mokpo's rich musical heritage through a diverse array of performances, engaging exhibitions, and interactive programs, promising an unforgettable cultural experience for both residents and tourists alike.

This ambitious '2025 Mokpo Music Play' seeks to transform the entire city of Mokpo into a vast musical stage, extending far beyond simple concerts. Kicking off with a spectacular opening performance, the festival will feature electrifying performances by popular K-Pop artists who are currently making waves both domestically and internationally. Adding to the festive atmosphere, music and dance competitions highlighting the passionate dreams of amateur musicians, alongside unique performances by local artists, are highly anticipated.

Particularly noteworthy are the festival's diverse exhibition and experience offerings. The 'Music Square,' filled with various music-related stories, the 'Music Dabang Station,' recreating a nostalgic space to enjoy classic tunes, the 'Mokpo Memory Archive,' providing a comprehensive look at Mokpo's musical history, and 'Short Forms of Popular Music History,' presenting the evolution of pop music through engaging short videos, will offer visitors a wealth of sights to explore. Complementing these, interactive programs such as 'The Street Singing Marble,' a board game, and 'Music Playlist,' where attendees can share and enjoy music based on personal preferences, will encourage active participation and enhance the festival's enjoyment.

Throughout the festival, pop-up stores and flea markets will offer a variety of entertainment options, alongside a food zone where visitors can savor diverse culinary delights. This is expected to establish the event as a comprehensive cultural festival catering not only to music enthusiasts but also to the general public and tourists. The city of Mokpo plans to leverage this '2025 Mokpo Music Play' to promote Mokpo's unique musical charm and its brand value as a beautiful port city nationwide, while also contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.

All festival performances will be free of charge, allowing anyone who loves music to enjoy without 부담 (burden). However, for the smooth operation of the event and the maintenance of order, a limited online reservation system of 2 tickets per person will be implemented, with a reservation fee of 3,000 won. Online reservations will be conducted through the Ticketlink website at designated times per zone, and those who reserve must exchange their physical tickets with assigned seating on a first-come, first-served basis at the venue on the day of the performance. Additionally, a limited number of on-site tickets will be available for those who have difficulty with online reservations. Visitors who were unable to make online reservations can reserve remaining seats on a first-come, first-served basis at the Mokpo Athletic Stadium starting at 1 p.m. on the day of the performance.

Online ticket reservations will begin on May 9th at staggered times. Performances on May 23rd will be available for reservation starting at 7 p.m., those on May 24th from 8 p.m., and those on May 25th from 9 p.m., all via the Ticketlink website. Given the anticipated high demand for reservations, citizens and tourists wishing to participate are advised to check the reservation start times in advance and book promptly.

An official from the city of Mokpo emphasized, "Through this '2025 Mokpo Music Play,' we hope to showcase Mokpo's unique musical color and the city's brand value nationwide, and to provide citizens with a rich opportunity to enjoy culture." More detailed information regarding the performance schedule, invited artist lineup, side events, and other festival details can be found on the official Mokpo Music Play website and the Ticketlink website. The '2025 Mokpo Music Play,' where the beautiful nature of Mokpo and music harmonize, is expected to offer special and unforgettable memories this spring.
