Officially Launches Integrated Childcare Platform ‘iChungnam’… Full-Scale Operation Begins

Chungcheongnam-do has established and officially launched the integrated childcare platform ‘iChungnam’ to enhance accessibility to childcare information and improve the convenience of using childcare services for parents of elementary school students.

The province held the ‘Final Report Meeting for the Establishment of the Chungcheongnam-do All-Day Childcare Integrated Platform’ on the 25th at the Chungnam Social Service Agency’s education seminar room, announcing the official opening of the service.

This ‘Chungcheongnam-do All-Day Childcare Integrated Platform Establishment Project’ was promoted to improve accessibility to childcare information for residents and realize childcare without blind spots.

Approximately 30 people attended the report meeting, including officials from the provincial government and the provincial office of education, personnel from the Chungnam Social Service Agency, and staff from city and county childcare centers. The meeting proceeded with the final project report and a question-and-answer session.

The newly established integrated childcare platform ‘iChungnam’ is part of the ‘Strong Chungnam Full-Care Childcare Policy’ and provides customized childcare services for parents with elementary school children aged 6 to 12.

In particular, the platform’s establishment is expected to enhance parental convenience by enabling online application and reservation for existing childcare service providers such as ‘Local Children’s Centers,’ ‘Together Childcare Centers,’ Chungnam-type childcare centers like ‘All-Day Childcare Centers,’ and ‘Strong Chungnam Village Childcare Centers,’ which previously were only accessible via phone or in-person visits.

Furthermore, parents can also apply for the ‘365×24 Childcare Hub Center,’ which offers childcare services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to accommodate parents’ desired times, and ‘Childcare Activity Worker Dispatch,’ which addresses various niche childcare needs.

Application and reservation services for childcare facilities within the province and policy information provided through iChungnam can be accessed on the iChungnam website (https://www.ichungnam.kr/index.do).

iChungnam is operated under consignment by the Chungcheongnam-do All-Day Childcare Integrated Support Center, which was established last year within the Chungnam Social Service Agency. The report meeting included demonstrations of how to use the iChungnam platform and various questions and answers related to the platform.

The province plans to collect and review the opinions raised during the meeting and reflect them in the iChungnam operation process as needed.

In addition, the province intends to improve and supplement the platform to enable residents to use childcare services more conveniently by conducting user statistics analysis and satisfaction surveys of iChungnam users.

Lee Seung-yeol, head of the Population Policy Division of the province, stated, “We will stably establish ‘iChungnam’ and make it a key pillar for the development of Chungnam-style childcare policies. We will continue to strive to improve shortcomings and provide a better childcare environment to enhance parents’ accessibility and convenience to childcare services.”
