ULSAN, South Korea – To offer solace and foster empathy among professionals, Ulsan City is hosting a special book curation exhibition titled “Always Wise Office Worker Life” at the Ulsan City Library, located on the first floor of the City Hall main building. The exhibition, which commenced on June 11, 2025, will run through July 31, 2025. This initiative aims to provide comfort, motivation, and practical life tips for office workers navigating the demands of busy schedules and complex workplace relationships.

The exhibition is held in a dedicated section of the Ulsan City Library and features a collection of 140 books focused on healing and well-being. All exhibited books are available for free perusal and loan, encouraging active engagement from visitors.

The curation is thoughtfully structured into three major themes, each further divided into nine sub-themes, designed to resonate deeply with the experiences of office workers. The first major theme, "Pause When Daily Life Feels Overwhelming," offers a selection of books intended to provide mental breathing room, promote self-care, and offer comfort and empathy. These titles delve into topics such as mindfulness, stress management, and finding moments of calm amidst chaos, acknowledging the emotional toll that demanding careers can take.

The second theme, "Self-Growth Manual for Office Workers," is a practical guide covering various aspects of personal development. This section includes books on effective habit formation, essential personal finance and wealth management (재테크), and maintaining physical and mental health. The aim is to equip professionals with tools to enhance their overall quality of life, moving beyond just work-related skills to encompass holistic well-being. This might include books on productivity hacks, investment strategies, or even healthy eating and exercise routines tailored for busy individuals.

Finally, the third theme, "How to Become Resilient in Relationships," addresses the crucial aspect of interpersonal dynamics. This collection focuses on improving human relationships, fostering effective communication, understanding intergenerational differences in the workplace, and even mending family ties. These books offer strategies to overcome emotional exhaustion often experienced in professional settings, providing insights into navigating difficult conversations, building stronger connections, and fostering a supportive environment. The emphasis here is on emotional intelligence and building robust social networks, both inside and outside the office.

Ulsan City Library plans to continue offering diverse book curation programs that are closely tied to the daily lives of local citizens. These initiatives aim to promote a broader reading culture and facilitate emotional connection within the community.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “This book curation was designed to help office workers connect more deeply with books through relatable themes. We hope that everyone can take this opportunity to reflect on themselves through reading and solidify their lives.” The exhibition is expected to draw a significant number of visitors seeking solace and practical guidance in their professional and personal journeys.
