
Seoul, South Korea – November 14, 2024 – Kia Corporation has announced a partnership with DHL Korea to drive innovation in global green logistics through purpose-built vehicles (PBVs). The agreement reflects the shared vision of both companies to address the growing need for eco-friendly solutions and digital transformation in the logistics industry.
Under the terms of the partnership, Kia will begin supplying its first mid-sized PBV model, the PV5, to DHL Korea in 2026. The automaker plans to further customize PBV models based on DHL Korea's specific operational requirements.
This collaboration is expected to open doors to partnerships in various countries across Asia and Europe. Kia also aims to expand the scope of its partnership with DHL Korea by introducing larger PBV models such as the PV7, scheduled for release in 2027.
"We are committed to providing DHL Korea with optimized models that enhance customer business productivity and actively supporting electrification as a partner," said Jeong Won-jeong, Vice President and Head of Kia's Domestic Sales Division. "We will strive to realize eco-friendly logistics transportation using PBVs."
Kia plans to launch its first PBV model based on a dedicated platform next year, followed by a comprehensive range of PBV products spanning from mid-sized to large vehicles. The company will also offer specialized software solution packages.
Yesterday, Kia hosted a signing ceremony at its Kia360 brand experience center in Gangnam, Seoul. Jeong Won-jeong and Han Ji-heon, CEO of DHL Korea, were among the attendees.
