Rome, Italy – November 14, 2024 – Airbnb has announced an exclusive opportunity for history buffs and adventure seekers: the chance to become a gladiator in the iconic Colosseum of Rome. In partnership with the upcoming film "Gladiator II," Airbnb is inviting guests to step back in time and experience the thrill of ancient Rome firsthand.

Selected participants will embark on a three-hour journey through the Colosseum, donning authentic gladiator armor, and walking in the footsteps of legendary warriors. This unique experience is designed to immerse guests in the world of ancient Rome and give them a taste of what it was like to be a gladiator.

"For those brave enough to take on the challenge, you will become part of history, donning real armor and following the paths of victorious warriors," said Airbnb. "This is your chance to feel the thrill of battle and step into the arena."

The event will take place on May 7th and 8th, 2025, with limited spots available. Participants will be selected through a random draw and will be able to attend for free. Each session will accommodate up to 16 guests, including companions.

According to Airbnb's website, "Guests will journey through the Colosseum's dimly lit underground passages, following in the footsteps of Maximus and countless other warriors. As you watch experienced gladiators engage in thrilling combat, prepare for your turn in the arena."

After training, participants will have the opportunity to face off against a fellow gladiator in a mock battle, with a judge determining the winner. However, Airbnb has emphasized that the Colosseum is a place for combat, not rest. "By order of the Emperor, no guest shall remain overnight," the company stated.
