Nairobi, Kenya - Kenya and Qatar celebrated the 53rd National Day of Qatar, highlighting their growing partnership and commitment to cooperation across various sectors.
The event, attended by Kenyan Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs Ali Hassan Joho and the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kenya, Mohammed bin Mutair Al-Enazi, emphasized the strong diplomatic relations between the two nations, built on mutual respect and shared values.
CS Joho commended Qatar's leadership in peace and security diplomacy and its significant contributions to Kenya's development, particularly in aquaculture and humanitarian assistance. He also highlighted the growing labor relations between the two countries, with the establishment of a Qatar Visa Center in Nairobi expected to streamline the process for Kenyan workers seeking employment in Qatar.
Both officials acknowledged the potential for increased trade between the two nations, with Kenya aiming to expand exports of fish, fishery products, horticultural products, and livestock to Qatar.
Ambassador Al-Enazi underscored Qatar's commitment to promoting cultural openness and fostering relationships with other nations, emphasizing its active role in advancing peace and international security. He also highlighted Qatar's dedication to providing comprehensive rights and care for the diverse workforce in the country.
The celebration served as a platform to reaffirm the strong bilateral ties between Kenya and Qatar and explore avenues for further cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, and labor mobility.
