[Global Economic Times] Gwacheon City Commercial Revitalization Center opened on the second floor of Knowledge Information Town Prism Square (20 Gwacheon-daero 7-ga-gil) and held an opening ceremony on the 17th.

The opening ceremony was attended by key figures including Gwacheon Mayor Shin Gye-yong, Gwacheon City Small Business Association President Park Min-gyu, and Hwang Cheol-soon, head of the Southwest Center of the Gyeonggi Metropolitan Market Promotion Agency.

Gwacheon City has been operating the ‘Startup and Commercial Revitalization Center’, which was previously operated at the Citizens’ Center, into a Startup Support Center and a Commercial Revitalization Center since the beginning of this year in order to smoothly implement customized support policies and expand business.

The city expects that by expanding and relocating the commercial revitalization center to the Knowledge Information Town, it will be able to expand the role of the center by forming an organic network with small business stores opening in the new city.

The commercial revitalization center that opened this time will use a 304.50㎡ space leased free of charge for 10 years from Prism Square PFV. The center has a large lecture room for small business training and a conference room for 1:1 consulting.

Gwacheon City Commercial Revitalization Center operates educational programs including ‘Merchant University’ to strengthen the capabilities of small business owners in the area, and actively supports small business stores in securing competitiveness through projects such as consulting and facility improvement to improve the store environment.

In particular, this year, the city held a 'Restaurant Selection Contest' for local small business restaurants to discover five excellent restaurants and prepare them for entry into the 'Gwacheon Performing Arts Festival', a representative regional event that mobilized 170,000 visitors. Excellent restaurants in the area were promoted by providing benefits.

Gwacheon Mayor Shin Gye-yong emphasized, “Through the relocation of the Commercial Revitalization Center, we will now be able to support not only small business owners in the original downtown but also new small business owners in the Knowledge Information Town,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts to revitalize the local economy.”

Meanwhile, the newly opened commercial revitalization center also houses the Social Economy Village Community Support Center and the Labor Safety Guard Office.
