SEOUL, South Korea – Hyundai Motor Company announced today that it will be competing in the Attack Tsukuba 2025 race at the Tsukuba Circuit Course 2000 in Japan on February 15th. The company will be entering the Racing Car & Slick Tire class with its Ioniq 5 N TA (Time Attack) Spec vehicle.   

The Ioniq 5 N TA Spec is designed to maximize the performance of the Ioniq 5 N with minimal modifications necessary for racing. It features software tuning that increases the rear motor output by 37 horsepower, bringing the total output to 687 horsepower. Other enhancements include new shock absorbers, motorsports-spec brakes, 18-inch Yokohama ADVAN 005 slick tires, and an aerodynamic package.   

This isn't the first time the Ioniq 5 N TA Spec has proven its mettle. Last June, it set a new record of 9 minutes 30.852 seconds at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in the United States, winning its class and setting a new record for electric modified vehicles.   

To set a new EV record at Attack Tsukuba, Hyundai has partnered with renowned Japanese race car driver, Nobuteru Taniguchi. Taniguchi has set records in Super GT and various other motorsports events in Japan, and he holds four all-time records at Attack Tsukuba.
