[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES] Applications for next year’s daycare or kindergarten admission can be made through the unified ‘Kindergarten Integrated Portal’.
The Ministry of Education announced on the 28th that it will integrate the online support sites for daycare centers and kindergartens into the ‘Childcare Integrated Portal (enter.childinfo.go.kr)’ and begin operation from the 1st of next month. Previously, applications for waiting to enter a daycare center had to be made on the ‘Isarang’ website, and applications for kindergarten admission had to be made on the ‘Cheomcho School’ website.
The integration of the sites is in accordance with the kindergarten integration policy to create new institutions by integrating daycare centers and kindergartens. In the past, daycare centers were handled by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and kindergartens were handled by the Ministry of Education, but with the revision of the Government Organization Act in December last year, infant care and education duties were integrated into the Ministry of Education.
With the opening of the integrated education portal, you will be able to search for the daycare center or kindergarten you need by signing up and logging in once. It is also possible to compare nearby daycare centers and kindergartens. An official from the Ministry of Education said, “In the case of kindergartens, you can easily search and compare whether they are public or public, the type of after-school program, and whether special classes are operated,” adding, “You can also search for daycare centers by type, such as dedicated infant care, specialization for disabled children, extended night time, and part-time. “Playgrounds, special education teachers, health teachers, school vehicles, etc. can also be compared,” he explained.
