Chungnam Province accepts applications until the 10th of next month… Strengthening safety management at construction sites

Chungnam Province is publicly recruiting construction safety inspection agencies to elevate the level of safety management at construction sites within the province and prevent shoddy construction and safety accidents.

This recruitment is promoted to secure professional agencies that will perform regular safety inspections and other duties for construction projects in the province in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

Application eligibility applies to safety diagnosis specialized agencies registered under Article 28 of the "Special Act on the Safety and Maintenance of Facilities," specifically including general or architectural/civil engineering sectors.

The application period runs until the 10th of next month. Agencies wishing to participate may submit their application documents by visiting the Provincial Construction Policy Division or via registered mail.

Based on the submitted documents, the Province plans to review the application agencies' eligibility requirements and execution capabilities, compile a final roster, and publish it on the provincial website.

Agencies registered on the roster will, through future designation procedures, perform safety inspections at regular safety inspection target sites among construction projects ordered or permitted by the province and cities/counties.

Major inspection targets among construction projects subject to the establishment of safety management plans include: △ Construction projects for 1st and 2nd class facilities under the "Special Act on the Safety and Maintenance of Facilities"; △ Excavation construction 10 meters or more underground; △ Construction using explosives where there are facilities or livestock sheds within 20 meters; △ Construction of buildings between 10 and 15 stories high; △ Remodeling or demolition construction of buildings 10 stories or higher; △ Construction using drilling rigs, pile drivers/extractors, tower cranes, etc., with a height of 10 meters or more; △ Construction using temporary structures stipulated by relevant laws and regulations; and △ Construction recognized by the project owner as particularly requiring safety management.

The execution agency comprehensively inspects and evaluates the structural stability, construction management status, and impact on the surrounding environment during the construction period.

Detailed information, including the recruitment notice for safety inspection execution agencies and submission formats, can be found in the notice and public announcement section of the provincial website (www.chungnam.go.kr).

"Through strict and objective safety inspections, we will do our utmost to prevent safety accidents at construction sites and create a safe construction environment," said Kim Sung-hwan, head of the provincial Construction Policy Division. "We ask for the keen interest and participation of competent safety inspection specialized agencies."
