The Chungnam Human Resources Development Center (HRD Center) recently announced the successful completion of its specialized job competency enhancement training program for E-9 visa foreign workers. The intensive program, held from March 4th to March 31st, 2025, saw the participation of 22 workers hailing from seven different countries, including the Philippines and Myanmar, representing 13 local businesses. All participants successfully completed the comprehensive curriculum.

The training was meticulously designed to facilitate the swift and stable integration of foreign workers into the industrial environment. The 140-hour course offered a broad spectrum of education, ranging from basic Korean conversation skills to foundational job-related abilities. The curriculum encompassed various modules, including language and cultural understanding, industrial safety and health, and basic job competency training.

Notably, the program placed a strong emphasis on practical job skills immediately applicable in the field. Training included the proper use of basic tools, processing and measurement techniques, blueprint reading, quality control, and hands-on welding practice. Furthermore, critical industrial safety education, such as emergency response procedures and workplace safety protocols, was thoroughly addressed.

The specialized training program provided tangible benefits not only to the participating foreign workers but also to the employing companies. Businesses that enrolled their foreign employees in the program were eligible for wage support, capped at 150% of the minimum wage, and the entire cost of the training was provided free of charge. Additionally, trainees benefited from complimentary accommodation in double occupancy rooms and full meal provisions, significantly enhancing their learning focus and overall satisfaction.

Participating companies lauded the program, reporting a noticeable improvement in their foreign workers' operational efficiency, communication skills, and safety awareness. They further emphasized the enhanced practical adaptability of their employees in real-world work scenarios.

Kwon Hyuk-dae, President of the Chungnam HRD Center, stated, "We plan to continuously operate customized training programs to support the smooth integration and stable working conditions of foreign workers in our industrial sector. The high level of satisfaction expressed by both participating companies and workers encourages us to expand the scale of this initiative in the future."

Companies interested in applying for the training program or seeking further information are encouraged to visit the Chungnam HRD Center website (cn.korchamhrd.net) or contact the E-9 Foreign Worker Specialized Training person in charge at 041-850-9562.
