Run, Experience, and Heal! An Autumn Sports Festival for the Whole Family to Enjoy Together

The Sejong Special Self-Governing City Sports Council (Chairman Oh Young-chul) announced that it will host the 「2026 Sejong Sports Festival」 at the Urban Festival Square of Sejong Central Park on October 24 (Saturday) to promote citizens' health and vitalize sports for all.

Co-organized with affiliated organizations such as the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Athletics Federation, Sejong Special Self-Governing City, and NAVER Cloud, the festival will feature a diverse program divided into a Part 1 morning event and a Part 2 afternoon event for families to enjoy together.

The Part 1 event, starting at 8:00 AM, is the 「SEJONG RUN ‘26 Marathon Competition with NAVER WORKS」, featuring 5km and 10km courses. Approximately 5,000 participants, including public officials, general citizens, and group participants, are expected to take part, running through Sejong Central Park and the surroundings of the Eungdari Bridge.

The Part 2 event, starting at 11:00 AM, is the 「Autumn ON! Citizen Sports Stage」 hosted and organized by the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Sports Council. 23 hands-on sports experience and PR booths—participated in by sport-specific associations and private sports facilities—will be set up, allowing visitors to directly try out various sports disciplines. In addition, the 「2026 Sejong Fitness King Selection Competition」 (first-come, first-served for 150 people) to crown the top fitness champion through National Fitness 100 fitness measurements, along with sports-for-all demonstration events across 7 sports categories, will also be held.

Starting at 5:00 PM, citizen-participation classes led by professional instructors will take place on the main stage. Three programs will be operated: outdoor yoga combined with singing bowl meditation (instructor Jang Sung-yeon), barre designed for easy following by beginners alike (guest instructor Nam Ji-hyun), and a cross-generational shuffle dance for all generations to enjoy together (instructor Lee Yeon-sil). Applications for participation are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Sports Council website.

For the convenience and enjoyment of visitors, ancillary events will also be abundant, including mat zones set up on the lawn square, shade canopy and beanbag resting areas, 10 food trucks, a flea market, and an air bounce for children.

Oh Young-chul, Chairman of the Sejong Special Self-Governing City Sports Council, stated, "This 2026 Sejong Sports Festival is a venue of harmony where any citizen can enjoy sports and unite, ranging from marathons to various sports-for-all experiences and outdoor classes," adding, "We hope many citizens will create healthy and happy memories at Sejong Central Park dyed in autumn colors."
