Bonghwa, South Korea – Buncheon Santa Village, Korea's only Santa-themed village, has been selected by the Korea Tourism Organization as one of the top five winter travel destinations in the country.

Located in the remote mountainous region of Bonghwa, often referred to as "Korea's Siberia," the village offers a unique and heartwarming experience for visitors of all ages. The entire village is adorned with festive decorations, including red roofs, large Christmas trees, photo zones, a Santa slide, and a wishing post, creating a magical atmosphere.

Buncheon Station, where the Santa Village is situated, is also a popular stop for the Baekdudaegan Canyon Train (V-train), offering stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty. To further enhance the visitor experience, the village is introducing new attractions such as a VR experience center, an observation deck, a year-round sledding hill, and a mini-train.

The annual "Midwinter Buncheon Santa Village Festival" will be held from December 21 to February 16, featuring a variety of events, performances, and activities. A highlight of this year's festival will be the return of the official Finnish Santa Claus, who was a big hit with visitors last year.

"We are thrilled that Buncheon Santa Village has been recognized as a top winter destination," said Bonghwa County Mayor Park Hyun-kuk. "We have worked hard to create a magical and memorable experience for our visitors, and we are confident that this year's festival will be even more successful."

In addition to the main festival, a special "Pet-Friendly Winter Santa Village Festival" will be held from December 27 to 29, allowing pet owners to enjoy the festivities with their furry companions.

With its charming atmosphere, festive decorations, and numerous activities, Buncheon Santa Village is the perfect destination for a winter getaway.
