The Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services announced on the 16th that it will carry out a field demonstration of the "Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based Multilingual Safety Management Service" targeting 15 farms in 3 cities and counties until December.
This demonstration is promoted to reduce difficulties in delivering work and safety information caused by language barriers as the number of foreign workers increases, and to prepare safety management support measures that can be utilized in agricultural settings.
The service provides agricultural work safety information tailored to the language of foreign workers, and supports managing training history when workers check the training content and provide an electronic signature.
During the demonstration period, the Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services plans to collect opinions from farmers and foreign workers to verify the field usability of the service—such as providing multilingual safety information and managing training histories—and to discover safety management support models for foreign workers suitable for agricultural sites.
An official from the Chungnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services said, "As foreign workers are an important workforce in agricultural fields, we developed this service so that there are no gaps in delivering safety information due to language barriers," adding, "We will continuously discover and promote safety management measures that are practically helpful to both farmers and foreign workers by reflecting field feedback."
