Kim Hye-seong Makes MLB Spring Training Debut with Dodgers

Kim Hye-seong, the 26-year-old infielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, made his highly anticipated MLB spring training debut on February 21st. Starting at second base, Kim went 0-for-1 with a walk in the Dodgers' 4-12 loss to the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.

Despite not recording a hit, Kim impressed with his plate discipline and defensive prowess. He worked deep counts in both at-bats, drawing a walk in his second plate appearance. He also made two putouts in the field, showcasing his defensive skills.

After the game, Kim acknowledged the increased velocity of MLB pitching compared to the KBO League, where he played for the Kiwoom Heroes. "MLB pitchers' fastball velocity was a bit faster overall," Kim commented.

However, Kim didn't appear overwhelmed by the challenge. He battled tenaciously in his at-bats, demonstrating his patience and ability to make adjustments.

Kim's performance drew praise from Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who noted, "He's a good player. You can see that he's got a good approach at the plate. He's a tough out."

Kim's debut was a promising start to his MLB career. While he has yet to record a hit, his plate discipline and defensive skills were on full display. He will look to build on this performance as spring training continues and the regular season approaches.
