Daejeon City announced that the '2025 Daejeon Disabled Skills Competition' successfully concluded its three-day schedule on June 27th.

The competition was held from June 25th to 27th at three venues, including the Korea Polytechnic University Daejeon Campus, with a total of 216 contestants competing fiercely in 23 trades.

The competition trades included various fields such as furniture making, precious metal crafts, and confectionery/baking. The event served as a technical festival aimed at improving the vocational skills of people with disabilities, expanding their social participation, and establishing a foundation for self-reliance.

A total of 54 participants were awarded, with 20 receiving gold, 19 silver, and 15 bronze medals. Notably, gold medalists earned the right to compete in the '2025 National Disabled Skills Competition' which will be held in Gangneung, Gangwon-do, this September.

Throughout the competition, participants showcased their honed skills, demonstrating immense passion and a spirit of challenge. Over 60 volunteers also contributed to the smooth running of the event by assisting with operations.

Daejeon Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, "Through this competition, we were once again able to confirm the outstanding skills and passion of people with disabilities." He added, "We will continue to provide unwavering policy support for the vocational self-reliance and social participation of people with disabilities."
