Yeosu, South Korea — The 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair is launching an engaging, participatory event designed to help visitors explore every corner of the fairgrounds and enjoy the exhibition contents in a fun, interactive way.

The 2026 Yeosu World Island Fair Organizing Committee announced that it will host the "Find the Treasure" event across four major exhibition halls in the main venue from September 24 to November 4.

This event encourages visitors to tour the four exhibition halls sequentially, locate a representative artifact in each hall, and take a verification photo with themselves in it. Visitors who collect all four verification photos can receive a souvenir.

By shifting the exhibition experience from simply "looking" to "searching," the committee designed the program so that families and visitors of all ages can experience the fair's contents more enjoyably.

What are the "Four Treasures" Hidden in the Four Exhibition Halls?
One treasure is hidden in each exhibition hall:

Theme Island: Features a 47th Jeju Dolharubang, symbolizing cultural exchange between Jeju and Yeosu.
Marine Ecology Island: Showcases woodcrafts depicting the daily lives of Palau islanders.
Culture Island: Displays a ship model crafted from baleen (whale baleen).
Future Island: Features "Shasha," a traditional Omani boat connecting the world's islands.
All four artifacts tie directly into the fair's core themes of islands, the sea, and vessels, turning the treasure hunt into a journey following the stories of the world's islands.

How to Participate
Participating is simple:

Visit the four exhibition halls and take a verification photo including yourself in front of each designated artifact.
Collect all four photos and show them at the permanent experience booth behind Treasure Island to receive your souvenir.
Operating Hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM (ends early if daily souvenir supplies run out).
Closure Notice: The event will not operate on October 6, a scheduled fairground closing day.

This event serves as a natural guide for first-time visitors to explore the main exhibition halls, while offering returning visitors a chance to rediscover various sections and find new sights.

In particular, through the familiar game of a "treasure hunt," children can naturally encounter stories about the world's islands, island cultures, the ocean, and the future as they search for exhibits.

During the same period, concurrent activities will be held, including a photo spot verification event—where visitors upload photos of various fairground hotspots to social media—and an evening "Wish Boat" program where participants float LED boats inscribed with their wishes along the water channels of the Island Theme Zone. This allows visitors to spend a full day hunting for treasures by day and floating wishes by night.

An official from the Organizing Committee stated, "We hope family visitors during the Chuseok holidays will thoroughly tour all four exhibition halls and experience the fun of discovering world island artifacts firsthand. It will be a treasure hunt for children and a journey following the stories of islands for adults."
