The Chungnam Provincial Government announced that the "2026 Chungnam Drone Festa," held on the 17th around the provincial government complex, successfully concluded with 20,000 visitors—double the attendance of last year.
Now in its second year, the event has established itself as a drone festival for the whole family, featuring a national drone competition, around 30 diverse exhibition and experience booths, a conference, and a drone light show.

Unique hands-on experiences such as drone fishing and pop drones, alongside cutting-edge drone exhibitions, offered visitors the opportunity to directly pilot drones and explore various applied technologies, experiencing the charm of drones firsthand.
The national drone competition lowered the barrier to entry by restructuring its events into precision piloting and search missions, providing a stage for participants to showcase their piloting skills and teamwork.

As a result of the competition, the Drone Precision Piloting Mission Challenge was won by Ahn Sung-yeon in the general division and Kim Yu-hyun in the student division. In the Drone Search Mission Challenge, the teams of Park Min-oh and Jin Jeong-hyun (general division) and Yu Eun-woo and Park Ju-ryeok (student division) took first place in their respective categories.
At night, the festival reached its peak with a drone light show themed "Chungnam Connected Through Past and Future," featuring 3D stereoscopic displays depicting the province's history and future vision.

"This Drone Festa was an opportunity for residents to directly experience drones and discover their diverse possibilities," said Hong Jong-wan, Vice Governor for Administration of Chungnam Province. "Moving forward, we will continue to expand participation opportunities so that anyone can easily access drones and embark on new challenges."
