[GLOBAL ECONOMIC TIMES]  Paraguay's Ministry of Social Development (MDS) and the state government announced that they are expanding the Zero Hunger program by adding 173 districts across the country. This reflects the government's will to provide quality meals to all students by expanding school meals to areas not included in the existing program.

Since last August, school meals have already been provided to 400,000 students in 90 regions across Paraguay. In particular, we are working to improve the nutritional status of underprivileged students by giving priority support to 22 local governments classified as poor and extremely poor areas by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

From February 2025, 173 districts will be added, and approximately 450,000 students will be able to receive school meal benefits. There are plans to expand the support target to 1,300 young people by adding 16 central technical schools that operate in two shifts.

The Ministry of Social Development aims to provide school meals to approximately 950,000 children and adolescents nationwide by 2025. This shows that the Paraguayan government is actively working to achieve zero hunger.
