Korea Tourism Organization Successfully Concludes the '2026 Wonju Windgil Forest Donation Run'
Over 350 participants join; all raised funds will be donated entirely to support children at risk of food insecurity in the Gangwon region

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO, President Park Sung-hyuk) announced that it successfully hosted the '2026 Wonju Windgil Forest Donation Run' (hereinafter referred to as the Donation Run) on the 17th, in collaboration with the Gangwon Innovation City Development Support Center. KTO organized this event to revitalize the Gangwon Innovation City, promote the charm of 'Chiaksan Windgil Forest'—a representative local tourism resource—and spread a culture of giving.

More than 350 people, including Wonju citizens and visitors from other regions, participated in the Donation Run. Participants ran a 10km course through the Windgil Forest, enjoying nature in the city center while adding deeper meaning to the act of sharing. After completing the run, participants visited the site of the '2026 Innovation Festa,' held in conjunction with the Donation Run, where they enjoyed representative local foods from Gangwon Province and browsed local small business booths to fully soak in the festive atmosphere.

A total of 22.4 million won raised through this event will be delivered to the World Vision Gangwon Headquarters, and will be used entirely to support children at risk of food insecurity in the Gangwon region. The donation fund was created by combining the entire entry fees of the participants with a contribution from KTO, joined by public institutions located in the Gangwon Innovation City—the Korea Mine Rehabilitation and Mineral Resources Corporation (KOMIR) and the Korea Road Traffic Authority (KoROAD)—as well as sponsor Seoul F&B.

Jung Seok-in, Head of KTO's International Tourism Division, stated, "We will continue to carry out various social contribution activities that enable the innovation city and the local community to grow together by utilizing attractive local tourism resources."
