To overcome the management difficulties faced by Hanwoo (Korean beef) farms—such as rising production costs and the expansion of imported meat—as well as the deepening crisis of an aging population, the Samcheok Agricultural Technology Center has launched customized comprehensive consulting and on-site technical support targeting young farmers who will lead the future livestock industry.

On the 18th, the Center, in cooperation with the National Institute of Animal Science (NIAS) under the Rural Development Administration (RDA), visited three Hanwoo farms in the jurisdiction (including Geundeok-myeon and Wondeok-eup) to provide expert comprehensive consulting on Hanwoo breeding, reproduction, feeding management, and the manufacturing of self-produced TMR (Total Mixed Ration) and TMF (Total Mixed Fermentation).
This consulting was designed to preemptively resolve field limitations currently experienced by Hanwoo farms and to help newly-minted and successor young farmers—who relatively lack experience—stably settle into farming.

Based on preliminary technical demand surveys, top experts in each field directly visited the farms to objectively analyze their breeding environments and management conditions. After listening to the difficulties experienced by the young farmers, they provided 1:1 customized solutions to enhance practical problem-solving capabilities.

A young farmer who participated in the consulting expressed gratitude to the Animal Science Research Institute and the Agricultural Technology Center, stating, "Recently, there have been many difficulties in management due to rising production costs, but receiving objective and specific advice on areas for technical improvement, such as management structure improvement and feeding management, was a great help."

An official from the Center stated, "For the Hanwoo industry to secure competitiveness amid crisis conditions, technological independence and management innovation by successor young farmers are essential. We will spare no continuous technical support in the future so that young farmers can quickly resolve on-site difficulties and achieve productivity improvements."
