Partial ticket amount refunded via Bucheon Sarang Voucher... resulting in a 163.95 million won refund effect
Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik: "We will connect cultural contents enjoyed by citizens with regional economic revitalization"

The nighttime media theme park "Bucheon Luminara Dohwamong," created along the forest paths of the Bucheon Natural Botanical Gardens, is establishing itself as a premier nighttime attraction in the metropolitan area for autumn picnic-goers. In October, the park adds displays of autumn flowers like chrysanthemums and asters, presenting a complex tourism content where visitors can enjoy flowers by day and light and media art by night.

Bucheon Luminara is a space created inside the Bucheon Natural Botanical Gardens in Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si. Under the theme of "Dohwamong" (Dream of Peach Blossoms)—derived from Bucheon's old place name "Boksagol"—it combines natural landscapes, lighting, and digital content. The entire viewing route is approximately 1.5 kilometers long. Visitors can walk along the forest path for about 90 minutes, experiencing changes in weather and the senses of the seasons through light.

Opened in October of last year, Bucheon Luminara surpassed 10,000 visitors in just over a month. From October 2025 to July 2026, following the opening of Luminara, total visitors to the Bucheon Natural Botanical Gardens also increased by 47,916 (about 14.7%) compared to the same period of the previous year.

Bucheon City is also focusing on connecting this increase in visitors to consumption in nearby commercial districts through local currency refunds.

12 Theme Spaces Combining Light and Nature with Weather Themes

The first section of Bucheon Luminara is the pre-show "Meteorological Paradise," utilizing the folding waterfall. It is a space where a large media wall unfolds stories of peach trees and Boksagol through video. Once the video ends, a trail appears between the cliffs, and the full-scale nighttime stroll begins.

Passing the cliff, the first section to appear is "Rainbow & Night Dew," where light spreading among shrubs mysteriously changes the atmosphere of the forest. The following "Rain" section adds visual refreshingness by expressing raindrops with laser lighting. A mirror tunnel decorated with flowers serves as a representative photo zone for visitors to leave memories.

In the "Moonlight" section, a large full moon illuminating the surface of the pond harmonizes with the quiet water surface. In the "Peach Blossom Seed" section, peach blossom seeds made of translucent lighting are installed, capturing diverse colors.

The second half of the tour is more dynamic. In the "Thunder" section, laser lightning passes through tree branches, creating tension. The "Wind" and "Aurora" sections utilize blowers and holograms to materialize invisible natural phenomena. Visitors can experience the movement of light and the sensation of wind together.

After passing the "Milky Way," decorated with sparkling lights, the "Snow" section continues, resembling year-round snowfall. The "Weather Station" adds fun with content that reacts to the movements of visitors. The final "Shooting Star" section produces a scene where colorful shooting stars pour down onto the deck path in sync with music, leaving a lasting impression of the walk.

October Autumn Flower Exhibition Held… Day and Night Across Bucheon Natural Botanical Gardens

Starting in October, autumn flowers add new colors to the nighttime scenery of Bucheon Luminara. Bucheon City is holding the autumn flower exhibition "Flowers Drawn by Sunshine, Forest Awakened by Moonlight" at the Bucheon Natural Botanical Gardens through the 31st of this month.

During the day, photo zones decorated with various autumn flowers and bedding plants, such as chrysanthemums and asters, are created in major spots of the park. Experience programs are also operated, including "Making Herbarium" using plastic bottles and preserved flowers, and the autumn flower exhibition commentary "Autumn Greeting of Flowers" for infants and adults.

At night, autumn flowers are arranged around the main viewing paths of Bucheon Luminara to showcase nighttime landscapes created by lighting and flowers together. In the Milky Way section, overhead lighting and laser production have been reinforced, and fairy-tale-style house structures have been installed. New photo zones utilizing autumn flowers and lighting, as well as night walking paths, have also been added to provide even richer attractions.

Partial Ticket Prices Refunded via Paper-type Local Currency… Creating a Virtuous Cycle of Local Consumption

The operating hours of Bucheon Luminara are from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM from March to October, and from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM from November to February of the following year. It is closed every Monday, January 1st, and on the days of Seollal and Chuseok.

Admission fees are 12,000 won for adults, 10,000 won for middle and high school students and soldiers, and 9,000 won for elementary school students and those aged 65 and older. Group visitors of 20 or more receive a 20% discount.

To attract visitors and vitalize local commercial districts, Bucheon City refunds a portion of the admission fee in "Bucheon Sarang Voucher," a paper-type local currency that can be used at about 3,000 affiliated stores such as traditional markets and alley commercial districts. Bucheon citizens receive 6,000 won, and visitors from other regions receive 3,000 won.

As of August, the total amount of Bucheon Sarang Vouchers refunded to visitors of Bucheon Luminara reached 163.95 million won. It is evaluated that the consumption of tourists did not stop at viewing but led to local commercial districts. In addition, it contributes to the creation of local jobs by operating with direct personnel.

Bucheon Mayor Cho Yong-ik said, "Bucheon Luminara Dohwamong is a resting place that citizens can enjoy close to their daily lives and a space where visitors can stay and consume in Bucheon," adding, "We will make it a content that connects cultural tourism and the local economy, rather than just a nighttime lighting facility."

He added, "Going forward, we will continue to link cultural and tourism contents with Bucheon Sarang Vouchers to create a virtuous cycle of the local economy that small business owners and citizens can experience together."
