Exhibitions by selected organizations for the 2026 Artwork Rental and Exhibition Support Project open on October 1 and 2

Local artists' works introduced in everyday spaces across the province: two in Jeonju, one each in Sunchang and Jinan

Exhibitions organized through the "2026 Artwork Rental and Exhibition Support Project," spearheaded by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Culture and Tourism Foundation (CEO Lee Kyung-yoon, hereinafter referred to as the "Foundation"), will kick off on October 1 and 2 in Jeonju, Sunchang, and Jinan.

The "Artwork Rental and Exhibition Support Project" aims to expand opportunities for residents to enjoy culture and arts by exhibiting local visual art pieces in everyday spaces such as public institutions and businesses within the province, while also broadening the distribution base for local artists.

These exhibitions have been collaboratively prepared by local visual arts organizations and spaces, allowing local residents to encounter artwork in their daily lives. The participating organizations and exhibition venues are: in Jeonju, ▲ the Jeonbuk Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association at the Jeonbuk National University Library, and ▲ 063 Archive at the Jeonju Sori Arts Center of Jeollabuk-do; in Sunchang, ▲ the Korea Craft Culture Association at the Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation; and in Jinan, ▲ the Jeonbuk Minjung Artists Association at the Jinan Scissors Museum.

The Jeonbuk Branch of the Korean Fine Arts Association will hold the exhibition "Reading Through Art" at the Jeonbuk National University Library from October 1 to November 30. Students, faculty, and local residents can naturally appreciate a variety of works by local artists in the library, a space for study and relaxation.

063 Archive will host the exhibition "In Between" at the Jeonju Sori Arts Center of Jeollabuk-do from October 1 to November 30, introducing the creative activities of young artists from Jeonbuk. Visitors coming to see performances can also naturally experience contemporary visual arts through the works of local young artists.

The Korea Craft Culture Association will showcase craft works at the Sunchang Fermentation Tourism Foundation from October 1 to November 30. The exhibition demonstrates how ordinary moments of daily life can expand into new senses and meanings when meeting an artistic perspective, allowing visitors to encounter craft works of various genres locally.

The Jeonbuk Minjung Artists Association will host "Seum-deum 2" (Steeping In 2) at the Jinan Scissors Museum from October 2 to November 2. It will feature works reinterpreting the historical context of minjung art—which has captured the lives and emotions of local communities—with a modern sensibility, along with exhibition-linked programs such as art experiences and postcard-making.

"We hope this serves as an opportunity for local artists and their works to meet more provincial residents in everyday spaces," said CEO Lee Kyung-yoon. "We will continue our efforts to broaden the activity base for artists and foster a cultural environment where anyone can experience art closely in their daily lives."

For more information, please contact each exhibition organization or the Foundation’s Creative Support Team (063-230-7448).
