A safer dining experience awaits travelers at the rest area.
BUYEO — In an effort to foster a reliable and hygienic dining environment for both local residents and tourists visiting the area, Buyeo County (under the leadership of Mayor Lee Yong-woo) announced on the 4th that the Buyeo Baekje Rest Area—serving both the Seocheon and Gongju directions—has been officially designated as a "Safe Food Zone."
The "Safe Food Zone" is a municipal designation program applied to areas where a high proportion of food establishments meet strict hygiene standards and are certified as "Safe Food Stores." Following comprehensive sanitation management, all eateries within both the Seocheon- and Gongju-bound sections of the Buyeo Baekje Rest Area successfully satisfied all criteria required for this designation.
This milestone is expected to instill greater confidence among travelers and residents utilizing the facilities. County officials hope this achievement will serve as a model of exemplary hygiene management, encouraging other rest stops and local restaurants to elevate their own sanitation practices.
"The designation of Safe Food Zones marks a vital first step toward building a secure culinary environment," said Yoo Jae-jung, head of the Buyeo County Public Health Center. "We remain committed to continuously improving hygiene standards and spreading a culture of food safety."
