CJ Freshway, a leading foodservice company in South Korea, has joined forces with the Wooyang Foundation to support the "2024 Egg Support Program for Low-Income Seniors." This annual program, which began in 2020, aims to improve the nutrition of low-income elderly individuals by directly delivering fresh eggs from local farms to social welfare organizations across the country.

This year, CJ Freshway contributed over 11,000 trays (30 eggs per tray) of eggs to the program. Leveraging its robust logistics and product competitiveness, CJ Freshway played a crucial role in expanding the program's reach to nationwide. In particular, the company supplied over 4,000 trays of premium, antibiotic-free eggs from its private brand "Itswell" to regions far from production areas at a reasonable price. Additionally, CJ Freshway donated 10% of the total supply, demonstrating its commitment to giving back to the community.

CJ Freshway operates seven major logistics centers in Icheon, Suwon, Yangsan, Jangseong, and other regions, enabling nationwide delivery. By utilizing its cold chain logistics system, which maintains the appropriate temperature for refrigerated and frozen products throughout the entire distribution process, CJ Freshway ensures the safe and reliable delivery of fresh food items to all regions.

A representative from the Wooyang Foundation stated, "As a food welfare NGO, we are committed to supporting vulnerable neighbors facing difficulties due to rising prices by providing domestic fresh food, fostering relationships, and engaging in various welfare programs. Through our partnership with CJ Freshway, we have been able to address regional disparities in egg supply, enhance quality control throughout the distribution process, and contribute to the revitalization of food support programs."

A CJ Freshway spokesperson said, "We are honored to contribute to the social welfare programs of the Wooyang Foundation by leveraging our foodservice distribution capabilities. As a food business partner, we will continue to explore various ways to create a virtuous cycle where customers and the community can coexist through sustainable management."
